Northern Baja - a destination in its own right
Equally, it is really not an international resort destination such as those near the Tropic of Cancer, including Spanish-era colonies such as Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco; and the more recent Mexican government investments such as Cancun, Los Cabos, and Ixtapa.
[…]When we compare northern Baja to the international resort destinations of Mexico we lose sight of what the area can truly become: an improved version of itself, a Mexican twist to the Southern California coastline at a fraction of the price.
That’s from realtor Brian Flock’s inspired column at MexiData. Rosarito and Ensenada are being hit hard as a result of the problems in the US Real Estate Market. But that’s not to say there aren’t terrific opportunities there. There are. We haven’t really started blowing Rosarito’s horn just yet, though we will be in the coming months. The photo above is a sneak peak.
Like just about every part of Mexico, northern Baja is unique. With it’s own special history and culture, I think we can count on the foreigners who raise an interest in the area to be - also - completely unlike those who are interested in all of the other places we like to talk about. I think Flock’s column makes a lot of sense and when we start to fill you in with more regularity on northern Baja we just may find that people with similar histories in southern California and the west coast all the way up to Canada will be just the perfect match for this incredible region.
