Whale Watching has officially begun in Banderas Bay

Keith from Puerto Vallarta Whale Watching let us know that the Official Whale Watching Season has started in Puerto Vallarta. A bit later than last year, the season started December 8 and runs through March 23, 2008. The whales are fully rested after their long trip south and ready to greet people who book tours with responsible touring groups. According to this article at Virtual Vallarta (from which comes the photo above), the approved tour boats have been alloted purple flags by SEMARNAT (Secretaría de medio ambiente y recursos naturales)to show that they have the proper permits.
